Halifax Civic Trust - Services
Halifax Civic Trust has over 100 members and is essentially a hard-working organisation striving to safeguard and improve its local environment. It is run by an active committee of a dozen members who make representation on a matter of issues, ranging from wildlife corridors and footpaths to highway schemes, threatened historic buildings, local unitary development plans and especially, of course, on planning applications.
Halifax Civic Trust's aims are: -
To stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty and changing character of Halifax and its surroundings
To secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of both historic and current public interest in the area
We do this by: -
- Encouraging high standards of architecture and planning in the area
- Arranging events and seminars
- Being represented on relevant bodies and committees
- Undertaking projects
